Dowsers have reported using their skill to locate water (dowsing for water), oil, and gold; for automobile diagnosis (car dowsing); in veterinary medicine; and for locating graves.
Skeptics argue that dowsing responses are influenced by a number of factors, including expectations and subconscious cues. Still, proponents insist that the reported successes of remote dowsing are valid.
Holistic Healing
Holistic healing is a form of treatment that incorporates the mind, body and spirit into one treatment. This type of therapy looks at the root cause of your problems and helps you find ways to prevent future illnesses. It also focuses on educating patients so that they can make better health choices.
For example, many holistic healers believe that certain herbs can help treat certain conditions, such as depression. Others may use acupuncture to relieve pain. Some even use hypnotherapy to help with anxiety.
Dowsing is another type of holistic healing that involves observing how a divining tool, such as a pendulum or rods, moves in response to an energy source. While the exact mechanism is unknown, some researchers suggest that dowsing tools amplify the subconscious mind’s ability to detect energy patterns. Others believe that divining tools can interact directly with the energies they seek. For this reason, practitioners often calibrate their tools before a dowsing session.
Environmental Assessment
Dowsing is a customary method of finding hidden materials – especially water and minerals. It’s also known as “radiesthesia” and dates back to ancient civilizations. While skeptics are quick to condemn the practice, there is growing evidence that dowsing can be used to locate water and other natural resources.
A recent blind study tested the ability of inexperienced dowsers to detect buried bones using rods. The test involved nine "graves" that were dug for the purpose of the experiment, and participants were asked to determine which holes contained bones based on visual assessment and by using dowsing rods.
The dowsing technique is useful in environmental assessments, as it can help identify the presence of geopathic stress and electromagnetic fields, which may be adversely affecting the human body. Dowsing has also been used to determine optimal planting locations and create energetic harmonization in agricultural settings. However, it’s important to remember that not all dowsing results are accurate.
Scientific Exploration
Dowsers claim that the dowsing reaction is caused by some power that overrides our physical laws. They often cite scientific respectability in their explanations, including the earth radiations that vary from location to location; the pulsations of inanimate objects; cellular energy rays from living things; and UFOs.
However, a Rumanian researcher, A Apostol, has shown that the Dowsing reaction comes from mechanical stress concentrations underground. Since such concentrationsin most casesare associated with water-bearing fracture zones, the dowsing rod can directly indicate water.
He also reports that a number of dowsers have successfully located passageways in caves which had been previously unexplored. The success rate of dowsers was confirmed by geophysical surveying, excavation and drilling. One such experiment, over Pant Mawr, was done under double-blind conditions. A grid was surveyed by novice dowsers and test holes were dug at those sites which had been indicated by the dowsers. A success rate of 78% was obtained, compared to an average of 50% for conventional ground-penetrating radar.
TMJ Treatment
TMDs are painful, disabling disorders affecting millions of people. Symptoms of TMD include pain in the chewing muscles or jaw joint; clicking, popping, or grating when opening or closing the mouth; limited movement of the jaw; and ringing in the ears.
A variety of healthcare professionals manage TMDs, including dentists, orthodontists, and physiotherapists who have special training in musculoskeletal manipulation (OMT). Medical specialists with additional training in neuromuscular medicine and pain management also contribute to treatment.
